Our Family

Wow time is flying by and I feel so badly that I have let so much time go by and not write something of worth here on the blog. Anyhow, summer is over and it is starting to cool down, by that I mean it is low 100's, but we are still grateful for that. School is back in session so I am busy running to work and school. I am still doing low voltage stuff and also in the past 2 months or so have been working doing landscaping for Uncle Gail. So between it all I stay busy. April is loving being a mom. It definitely brings out the best in her. She too is working and stays busy trying new things and decorating the house. We almost have the inside all taken care of. We just have the bathrooms to do and we will be in business.
Now Maycee on the other hand has all the free time in the world she has us wrapped around her little finger, as she does anybody that sees her. She is our little doll. She loves to show off and in reality is as cute as they come. She loves to smile and only fusses if she is hungry which shows...We took her to the doctor the other day and she is in the 97th percentile for weight an 75th for height. We are well and happy and can't wait to be able to spend our days out side in the grass rather than cooped up in the house. We love you all and can't wait to see you the next time we will see you!

Maycee Rae Brimhall came to us Sunday evening, May 24th! Labor was not to bad, especially after the epidural ;) We arrived that morning at 3 am to be induced. My doctor had scheduled the induction about 3 weeks previous for a few reasons... He doesn't like his patients going more than a week over, (I was due the 20th) he was leaving the country on the 30th for a family vacation, and he knew he would be on call this specific weekend. I wasn't going to complain. So there we were sitting at the hospital. They started me on pitocin as soon as we had checked in. Every 15 min. they bumpt the dosage until I was at 20mlg every hour, and boy does that stuff work. After about 10 hours (around 1pm) of labor, I was ready for that epidural. Those things are amazing! I had almost immediate relief and I kept telling everyone how good I felt. (My mom and sisters were there for the labor portion) Blake finally asked me to shut up (nicely) because I was saying it about every 30 seconds. It was good he said something...I think I was getting sick of hearing myself say it too. When I recieved the epidural I was fully ephaced and dilated to about a 4, it took forever to get there it seemed. Once I was given the epidural the doctor came to deliever an other baby, while he was there he broke my water and then things really sped up. within 4 hours I had dilated the rest of the way and started pushing. I pushed hard for about 20 min. and then just some light pushing for about 15 min. while we waited for the doctor to get there. Once he was ready to go, I gave a couple good pushes and she was here!!! They put here right up on my lap and I couldn't help but let the tears flow..... she was so beautiful (even if she was covered in all that icky goo) She weighed in at 7lbs 15oz and was 20 inches long.

Here we are almost 2 weeks later and even though she keeps me up most of the night I wouldn't give her back for anything! However, I must confess, some of the sleep loss is my own fault. I'll get up, change her diaper, feed her, burp her, and then just sit and look at her.....She is so beautiful......I can't help but just stare at her! I tell myself that I'm going to regret not sleeping later, but just can't help but hold her and stare! Ocaisionally i'll run my fingers threw her long dark thick hair. She has got so much hair! I think I was more suprised than anyone. All my mom's babies were bald...All my nieces and nephews, on my side, were bald.....All the dreams i've had involved bald babies.....where did all this hair come from??? People keep asking if she's mine! I tell them,"Yes, I'm the lucky one with the georgeous baby who has hair :)"

Maycee you are such a Joy to have and bring such a wonderful peace into our home! We love you little May and we are so glad that you chose to come live with us. We hope that we can be good, loving parents and hope to teach you everything you need to know to make it back to your Heavenly Father.
Here I am, sitting in bed, typing one handed, holding the most beautiful girl in the world! Yes our little Maycee Rae is here and i'm finally getting to write about it.....

Another Update

Okay we have an epidural now so we are cooking and we are at a 4 so hopefully within the next few hours we will have our little Maycee.

Update

so we are still in the hospital April is doing well she is starting to grimace a little at the contractions she says the pain is about up to a 3 on a scale of 1-10 so things are going okay.

Catch up!!!!

Well anyways there is tons to tell. The last 4 months that I have not posted have been crazy. I will have to get pictures and everything up. But we bought our house did some light remodeling. And about have it all put back together. And best of all we are now in the hospital and because of that I have have found some time to sit and make a quick post. I will try to write as often as there are significant changes in the process of the arrival of our little girl, Maycee Rae. We are excited to have her here with us and really we just cannot wait. Anyhow to the important stuff. April is dilated to a 2 or at least she was at 4 this morning. She has been having contractions since before we got here so hopefully she as progressed a little more than that by now. We are on pitosin I know I spelled that wrong. April is doing well and is doing her best to get some rest. I will post again when there are significant changes in what is going on here thanks love you all.

WHAT'S IT GONNA BE???

IT’S A GIRL!!!

We can’t believe we are having a GIRL, we are still trying to get over the shock of it all. If you recall on a previous blog Blake was so sure that he was going to have a little boy, a little CHAMP. He has been set on that name since the beginning. I have always had a strong feeling that I would have a boy first, even since jr. high. Blake is almost lucky, he’s only been thinking "boy" for a few months, I’ve been thinking a "boy" for several years! Don’t get us wrong we are so thrilled to be having a beautiful baby girl, and can’t wait to meet her! ( just not what we were expecting)

I had the ultra sound just a few days ago. It was really awesome to have Blake there and share that experience with him. The ultra sound tech said that all my measurements looked really good. In fact Blake loves to point out that she, the baby, was measuring in the 68.4 percentile. He is so proud to be having a big baby. He is such a proud father! Its cute :)

Due date is still the same, 20th of May. However I now officially share it with my sister Angie! She is expecting a boy, this is her second.

Well we couldn’t be happier with this time in our lives! We are happy for the New Year, and excited to see what it’ll bring. We love you all and hope that your New Year is plentiful and joyous!
